The UUEEC Preschool provides child centered developmentally appropriate early childhood experiences to families with children ages 2-5 years old. Our program is committed to building garden of learners that includes children and their families. Our experienced, highly qualified staff of early educators creates wonderful learning environments for young children that celebrate each developmental stage. However, our work doesn’t end there. As a Parent Participation Preschool we are equally committed to supporting and guiding parents in the evolution of their parenting skills.

2013 – 2014 Program Description

 

The Unitarian Universalist Early Education Cooperative Preschool (UUEEC) is an intimate, family-oriented preschool that seeks to create a nurturing environment to meet the developing physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of young children.  As a parent cooperative preschool, parents are actively engaged in classroom activities, with opportunities provided for parent education, sharing and development of parenting skills.  UUEEC is a play-based preschool, utilizing an emergent curriculum that provides extensive opportunities for children to choose activities from a rich environment that helps the developing child in all aspects of growth. Through planned activities and play, expert teachers guide children in negotiating conflict, making friends and learning how to solve problems.

 

Three age-level classes and optional extended care are offered:

 

Two’s Toddler Program

·         For 13 children two years of age by September 1.

·         Meets Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

·         2 Professional Early Educators; Child/Professional Staff Ratio 1:7

·         Annual Tuition $2150

·         Extended Day Option

 

Three’s Preschool Program

·         For 18 children three years of age by September 1.

·         Meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

·         2 Professional Early Educators; Child/Professional Staff Ratio 1:9

·         Weekly music is offered as part of the curriculum

·         Annual Tuition $3200

·         Extended Day Option

 

Pre-Kindergarten Program

·         For 18 children four years of age by September 1.

·         Meets Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

·         2 Professional Early Educators; Child/Professional Staff Ratio 1:9

·         Weekly music and physical education offered as part of curriculum.

·         Annual Tuition $4200

·         Extended Day Option

 

Lunch Bunch:  Optional Extended Day Afternoon Enrichment Program

·         Monday – Friday from 11:30/12:00 – 2:30 p.m.

·         Multi-age with changing daily focus, adapted to multi-age stages of development: Mondays – Art, Tuesdays –Music, Wednesdays – Science, Thursdays – Cooking, Friday – Engineering

 

Parent Involvement Expectations

As a parent cooperative preschool, we have high expectations for parent involvement with our school.  By enrolling, parents agree to:

1.       Serve as a co-oping parent classroom aide twice each month, on average.

2.       Provide classroom snacks once each month, on average.

3.       Participate in at least two of the three community work days.

4.       Serve on one of the parent committees.

5.       Provide additional support with tasks such as laundry, library, and play dough.

6.       Participate in parent meetings.

7.       Participate in community building events like play dates, Fall Fest, Auction, Sing and Feast.
